Anyone Else Ready for a Visit to Louisville?

[Kristie here]

John is buried somewhere under 15 page papers and such for finals week, so I'm taking over the blog to post some pictures of our visitors in the past month. Don't forget to watch the Kentucky Derby this Saturday!

Our good friends Abi and Estela came to visit in March from Virginia, and we had a great time. They even treated us to Krispy Kreme donoughts and a sweet meal at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!

I think we caught John with his hand in the cookie jar.

A fun little shot in Seneca Park.

Visiting Bonnie & Josh (fellow LU alum and SBTS lovers).

The girls talked.
The guys tried to get Muffy to do dog tricks.

Then in April, my parents made it out to Louisville for the first time since we moved here. They happened to drop in on one of the best weekends of the year - Thunder over Louisville. Over 800,000 people came out for this all-day air show and nighttime fireworks extravaganza. It's literally the biggest fireworks display in the western hemisphere...and it was incredible. We're taking reservations for anyone that wants to visit during Thunder next year.

Dad & Mom outside Norton Hall at Southern.

This is a small slice of the thousands of
people at Thunder.

Photos just don't do the show justice...

Look - a firework above each of our heads!

We'll be the ones doing the traveling and visiting the next two months. First, it's off to Colorado in May for Josh's (brother) graduation from the Air Force Academy, and then to PA in June for his wedding. Can't wait!
