Classical Education

I work for Memoria Press, the publishing arm of the Highlands Latin School here in Louisville. Memoria publishes and distributes materials for Latin, Logic, and Rhetoric throughout the states and the world.

Check out some great articles at www.memoriapress.com ('articles' section).

Classical education is something I had never really considered prior to my employment at MP. I see many benefits in it, however, and anticipate classically educating John Jr. and Kristiana.

Happenings

1. Attended a "Convergence" conference at Sojourn Community Church (here in Louisville) this past weekend. They hosted Sam Storms, a Charismatic Calvinist in the same theological vein as his good friend J. Piper and W. Grudem. This combination of theological persuasions, normally thought quite rare and incompatible, promises to attract more and more attention in the near future as C.J. Mahaney's Sovereign Grace Ministries and giften men like Grudem and Piper continue to wed these two streams of thought.
I also must say a big congrats to my good friend and former roommate, Chad Lewis, who is a new staff member at Sojourn.

2. Took eight of my friends out to the woodshed for an old-fashioned beat-down in a Texas hold-em game at the home of Ricky Hardison. Kristie finished in 3rd place.

3. Ate bear-claws....two at a time.

Summertime...

[kristie here]
We’ve been in a lot of places the past month and a half. Here are some snapshots of our travels:

First stop: Orlando, FL, where we worked a home school convention for Memoria Press. John transformed me into a classical education saleswoman overnight.

Next up: Colorado Springs, CO, for my brother Josh’s graduation from the Air Force Academy. We’re proud of you Josh!

And then: My hometown, PA, for Josh and Lauren’s wedding. What a fun and beautiful day…

The happy couple.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!
